Animal Vaccination Cum Health Camp held by ICAR, KVK, TURA
An animal vaccination cum health camp was conducted in Marapara village of Dalu block of West Garo Hills, Meghalaya by ICAR-KVK, Tura, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya on 20th Sept 2016 under National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project. Mass vaccination of cattle and goats against FMD (Foot and Mouth disease) and Pigs against Swine Fever was carried out during the early hours of the programme. A total of 91 numbers cattle and 27 goats were vaccinated against FMD and 12 nos pigs were vaccinated against Swine Fever covering three villages: Marapara, Sannengre and Rongbokgre. After completion of vaccination, treatment of the diseased animals was started. Farmers were prescribed for different diseases of cattle, goats, pigs and poultry and essential medicines along with mineral mixtures were distributed. All the treatment and vaccination were carried out by Dr(Ms) Sagarika Borah, Programme assistant, KVK, Tura and Dr(Ms) Salchi R.M.Momin, A.H & Vety officer, Jarangkona Vety. Dispensary.
